A project that went far beyond the familiar format of art collaborations. At the legendary Roland Garros stadium in Paris, I realized a large-scale project for Samsung — the title sponsor of the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) competition.

The art object became a living point of attraction for thousands of people. It functioned as a photo zone where Samsung demonstrated instant printing technology. In just one day, more than 2,500 photographs of visitors were printed — each person physically took away a captured moment.

This was the core idea of the project: to give people the ability to preserve a vivid memory here and now. In essence, it follows the same principle that underlies my work on canvas — fixing the fleeting life of the city, a state, the energy of a moment. Only this time, the carrier of memory was not a canvas, but a photograph born in front of the viewer’s eyes.

For the painting of the stand, I used my familiar visual language: drips, splashes, expressive tags, sharp movement, impulse. These techniques naturally resonated with the aesthetics and philosophy of skateboarding, which is close to me.

The event in Paris was attended by more than 10,000 guests. And, of course, the feeling that your name becomes inscribed into the history of SLS, Paris, and Roland Garros is a distinct level of responsibility.
